Announcement

Dispatch, Anode's market software, now co-optimizes day-ahead and real-time positions across every site in the fleet. The upgrade rolled out fleet-wide with no operator action required.

What changed

Dispatch previously optimized day-ahead commitments and real-time behaviour as separate problems. The new engine solves them together, weighing a day-ahead position against the value of holding state of charge for real-time volatility — site by site, hour by hour.

The practical difference shows up on volatile days. A standalone day-ahead optimizer will happily sell the hours that later turn out to matter most in real time; a co-optimized position keeps enough state of charge in reserve to chase scarcity when it actually arrives.

How it works

The engine builds a probabilistic view of real-time prices for the operating day, then solves the day-ahead offer as a portfolio decision against that distribution rather than a point forecast. State of charge, cycle budgets, and warranty constraints are inputs to the solve, not afterthoughts applied to its output.

What it means for owners

Co-optimization shows up as captured spread. Early fleet results show meaningful uplift on volatile days, with every decision logged and auditable. The upgrade is included for every site running on Anode software — there is no version to buy or migration to schedule.

What is next for Dispatch

Ancillary co-optimization is the next release: weighing energy against responsive reserve within the same solve. The same principle applies — one engine, one view of the day, every commitment made against the opportunity cost of the others.
