From agreement to energization

The schedule held because the variables were controlled early: interconnection position was secured before procurement, the enclosure design was certified as one unit, and commissioning ran in parallel with construction on the final blocks. Fourteen months is not a record we treat as luck — it is the schedule the playbook is built around.

The long-lead items were ordered the week the interconnection agreement was signed, against a site design that had already been value-engineered once. When the transformers arrived, the pads, conduit, and collection system were waiting for them rather than the other way around.

What commissioning looked like

Blocks were commissioned in trains rather than as one monolithic event. As each train passed its site acceptance tests it moved straight into a burn-in cycle under the site controller, so faults surfaced while crews were still mobilized. The punch list at energization was measured in days of work, not months.

Operating from day one

Cedar Bayou began dispatching into wholesale markets the week it energized. Monitoring, alarms, and degradation tracking were live before the first commercial cycle, so the performance baseline starts at commissioning rather than months later.

What the site means for the portfolio
